CHASSIS

SERVICES

From custom hand-built chassis to repair and precision realignment, we cover every aspect of chassis restoration and construction in a historically sympathetic and engineering-led way.

Full restoration service:

A complete strip down and dismantling of all major chassis components
Cleaning, preparation or media blasting as required
Removal of unnecessary holes, cracks and poorly executed previous repairs
Precision straightening and re-alignment of all structural members
Careful reassembly and structural riveting back to original blueprint dimensions

Every chassis is assessed individually, ensuring the integrity, geometry and material condition are fully understood before reassembly. Our aim is to return the structure to its intended specification while preserving its historic character.

New build:

We build chassis from scratch using original blueprints, period photographs, archival material or surviving vehicles as reference. Drawing data from multiple sources, we create new chassis for replicas, specials and competition cars.

With a team of skilled engineers, fabricators and blacksmiths working with specialist tooling and industrial machinery, each bespoke chassis is built by hand. We replicate original techniques and materials wherever possible to ensure the finished structure reflects the manufacturing ethos of the era.

Many early chassis were effectively sprung structural components, designed to flex and move under load rather than remain completely rigid. Attention to this subtle but critical detail can significantly influence driving characteristics and authenticity.

Alignment:

Using accurate chassis jigs, hydraulic tooling and our dedicated chassis table, we re-align distorted or fatigued frames without unnecessary dismantling. Accident damage, wear or decades of use can alter critical geometry, often without being immediately visible.

Correcting structural geometry can significantly improve handling, stability and overall driving performance. We treat each project individually and in close consultation with you, ensuring corrective work is appropriate to the vehicle and its intended use.

We also offer alignment and geometry checks on major drive components including front and rear axles, leaf springs, track rods and torque tubes. If your vehicle is stripped to its bare frame, it is often invaluable to verify alignment before proceeding.
